Technical

"Beede was founded in Penacook, New Hampshire, in the early 1900's by Walter E. Beede and was an offspring of the Whitney Electrical Instrument Company. These 'pocket type' meters were used to test the batteries in early radios and in automobiles. During this period, he developed and patented the meter movement we now call the number 60 conventional frame type D'Arsonval movement. Beede was the first meter company to use Alnico magnets in its instruments." (quoted from Beede website - see ref. 3) This meter is a typical example of a meter used by home radio builders.
