THE POSTS WERE COATED WITH MEXICAN ASPHALTUM & FILLED WITH CONCRETE PRIOR TO ISSUE. DIFFICULT TO REMOVE, THEY WERE ALSO LESS SUSCEPTIBLE TO DAMAGE & DECAY THAN THE EARLIER WOOD MARKERS (REF.1, P.12). - Area Notes
