-
Owner driven passenger vehicle for general transportation. - Technical

This vehicle was part of the second series offered by Bentley after WW2. The previous one was Mark VI. It is a remake of Mark VI with greater engine displacement and a longer tail. It is also the first Bentley offered with an optional automatic transmission. Type R Bentley's were produced from 1952 until 1955. About 2323 were produced. This model is also very similar to the Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn. However, Bentley was more popular and the vast majority of cars made at the Crewe factory were Bentleys. - Area Notes
