- Markings
- No markings on thermometers. Label on box top reads: " MERCURY BATH THERMOMETER/ Engraved Tube For Dental VulcanizersBlack Scale/ Directions for Inserting: Unscrew the brass case and remove the old/ scale and all the packing that is in the end of the case. Fit the new/ scale into place. Slip the new pieces of packing on to the glass tube,/ nearly down to the bulb. Pass the tube up through the case, carrying it/ into its place, so that the upper end enters the top of the case. Then care-/ fully press the pieces of packing into the socket, and screw the case,/ tightly, on to the machine. If the tube is found too large to enter, the/ hole can be enlarged with a drill of the proper size. The mercury cup on/ which the case screws must contain sufficient mercury to insure contact/ with the bulb of the thermometer, or the thermometer will not register/ correctly./ BUFFALO DENTAL MFG. CO., N.Y., U.S.A./ MADE IN U.S.A. THIS IS THE FAMOUS RED STRIPE THERMOMETER". "MERCURY BATH/ THERMOMETER/ TRADE./ BUFFALO/ MARK" on both end panels.
