- On the label: "SILVER NITRATE XTLS./ O3. Colourless, rhombic plates: odorless; bitter, caustic, metallic taste; rapidly/ by organic matter in light. Soluble in 06. pts. water, 26 pts. alcohol, 0.1 pts./ water. Melts 198 [degrees] C. Antiseptic, alternative, stimulant, escharotic, irritant./ nternally, epilepsy, locomotor ataxia, typhoid fever, chronic diarrhoea, gastritis,/ of gall duct, etc.; externally: in 2% solution for injection in gonorrhoea. Exten-/ sed in photography and as a reagent by chemists. Dose. 1/8 to 1/2 gr. (0.008-0.032/ Antidotes: Solution common salt, sal. ammoniac, mucilaginous drinks. Emetics:/ f egg, milk, etc. Incompatibles: organic matter, hydrochloric acid, chlorides,/ ates, arsenites, opium, extracts, resins, essential oils, tannin, etc."/ Stamped in red over the other markings: "e LYMAN BROS. & CO.
