The Avian Aircraft company was formed in February 1959 to develop an auto-gyro-type aircraft known as the Avian 2/180 Gyroplane. The Avian Aircraft company head office was located in Georgetown, Ontario. Two prototypes were built. The first of these began its flight test program in the spring of 1960. The second made its first controlled flight on February 16 1961. La compagnie Avian Aircraft a été formée en février 1959 pour développer un aéronef à type autogire reconnu comme le Avian 2/180 Gyroplane. Le siège social de la compagnie Avian Aircraft était situé à Georgetown en Ontario. Deux prototypes ont été construits. The 2/180 Gyroplane is a two-seat wingless autogyro. This aircraft has a three-blade rotor, with flapping hinges but no drag hinges along with conventional control system. The blades have steel-tube main and leading-edge spars, wood core and glass fibre covering. The Gyroplane is a non-retractable tricycle type. All-steel cantilever legs, each carrying a single wheel with Goodyear nylon-reinforced tube-less tires. The engine of the gyroplane is a 200hp Lycoming IO-360 four-cylinder horizontally-opposed air-cooled engine. L'autogire 2/180 est un aéronef sans voilure à deux sièges. L'aéronef a un rotor à trois turbines avec des articulations de battements mais aucune articulation de traînée ainsi qu'un système de contrôle conventionel. Les turbines ont des longerons principaux et des pointes en tubes d'acier avec un centre de bois et une couverture en fibre de verre. Les jambes cantilevers em acier, chacune qui comprend une joue simple avec des pneus Goodyear renforcées en nylon sans tubes. - Blue coloured plane model made from composite materials. The front and the sides of the model has grey and cream coloured detailing. The model has three black rubber wheels. The back side of the model has an orange blade and a silver rotor. Modèle réduit en couleur bleue fabriqué de matériaux composites.
