Technical: IN 1926 JOHN PATTERSON OF THE CANADIAN METEOROLOGICAL SERVICE INTRODUCED THE 3 CUP ANEMOMETER; THIS ORIGINAL STYLE OF HEMISPHERICAL CUP WAS SUPPLANTED BY THE CONICAL CUP SOMETIME BETWEEN 1942 & 1946 (SEE REF.).
