EXAMPLE OF TORSION BALANCE WIRES. IN USING A TORSION BALANCE, WEIGHT IS DETERMINED BY THE TWISTING FORCE NECESSARY TO TURN A WIRE FROM WHICH IS SUSPENDED A LIGHT HORIZONTAL ROD.
