Markings: Plate on base reads "EDISON/ GENERAL ELECTRIC CO./ SCHENECTADY WORKS/ SPEED 1060/ NO. 4/ VOLTS 1050". "700LIGHT/ ALTERNATOR" stamped into shaft ends. "16" cast in raised print on frame supporting shaft. "669" stamped in raised print on small metal plate fixed to one side of frame.
Missing: UNKNOWN. GENERATOR IS BADLY CORRODED: LARGE AREAS OF LOSS TO ENAMEL FINISH. VERY HEAVILY SOILED.
Finish: GREY ENAMEL FINISH ON MOST AREAS OF EXTERIOR. SEMI-CIRCULAR BAR (SERVING AS GUARD RAIL) ON COMMUTATOR END OF FRAME PAINTED IN ALTERNATING BANDS OF YELLOW & BLACK.
