Type sample. This razor was made in Holland and was purchased in France in the mid 1950’s. It was then given to the Donor’s grandmother, whose neighbor had originally purchased it. It was used in Ottawa from 1950’s to 1994 when it was acquired by the museum.

The Speedshaver boasted the “fastest ever” in 1957, with “12 razor-keen rotary blades whirling beneath stationary skin guards” which never stop or change directions. The Debutante was said to give a “powder puff shave” – does not specify what that means. – Self sharpening blades and patented skin stretcher were also Norelco/Philishave features.
