THE GUARD-X SYSTEM OFFERED THE GREAT ADVANTAGE OF BEING 'AUTOMATIC' AS IT HAD A FUSIBLE METAL LINK THAT MELTED AT A 'PRESET' TEMPERATURE RELEASING A HAMMER ATTACHED TO A SPRING WHICH SMASHED THE GLASS GRENADE RELEASING CHEMICALS TO SUPPRESS A FIRE WITHIN 800 CU FT OF THE EXTINGUISHER. IT ALSO COULD BE WIRED TO A FIRE BELL. - Area Notes
