Eight point of compass incised on face; compass circle divided 0-360, by single degrees, and labelled at 10-degree intervals..2 "10" incised on tangent screw and inside threaded receptacle of tacheometer; "13" crudely incised on outside of fitting..3 case stamped " E.R. WATTS & SON/ LONDON ENG./ OTTAWA & WINNIPEG " ON FRONT OF LID; " [illegible]/ Telemeter 21 " crudely stamped into top of lid; "41" clearly stamped, below. "41" handwritten in pencil on one end panel of case..4 &.4PT no markings apparent.

SILVER METAL CAP SCREWS ONTO TRIPOD HEAD (PROBABLY TO PROTECT THREADS).
