Technical
REGENERATIVE RADIO RECEIVER HAS DETECTOR AND SINGLE AUDIO STAGE. INTRODUCED IN THEEARLY 1920S, AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO CRYSTAL SETS, REGENERATIVE RECEIVERS EMPLOYED A VACUUM TUBE TO BOTH DEMODULATE OR DETECT THE RADIO SIGNAL, AND TO PROVIDE AMPLIFICATION. CAREFUL CONTROL OF THE LEVEL OF AMPLIFICATION WAS NECESSARY TO PREVENT OSCILLATION OF VACUUM TUBES. POWER OUTPUT WAS INSUFFICIENT TO DRIVE A LOUDSPEAKER.(1)

LIMITED/ HAMILTON, CANADA/ GX". "[Westinghouse logo]/ Radiola III" marked on top panel. All controls, etc. labelled. "+20B", "-C", "+C -A", "+40B", and "-B+A&GND" stamped into connectors on cables. 1 vacuum tube marked "WESTINGHOUSE/ W/ WD-11" on top; "RADIOTRON WD-11/ PATENTED" cast in raised print on underside of base. 2nd tube identical save top marked "WESTINGHOUSE/ WD-11".
