- Caption below picture reads: "Eagle Day/Smoke rises from the wreckage of a Dornier DO17 bomber, part of a force sent to attack RAF Kenley/on 18th August 1940, brought down near Biggin Hill by sergeant Ron Brown of 111 Squadron seen/here flying low overhead in his Hurricane."; lettering hand painted near the lower right corner of the original canvas reads: "GEOFF NUTKINS - DECEMBER 1987"; number hand written in pencil on the bottom border at far right reads: "82/525"; there are 5 signatures in pencil on the bottom border, including that of Ron Brown, the Pilot of the Hurricane depicted in the picture.
