- Caption below picture reads: "GLORIOUS SUMMER/by/Robert Taylor/Mark I Hawker Hurricanes of No. 56 Squadron make their third scramble of/the day during the early stages of the Battle of Britain, to repulse incessant/heavy attacks by German aircraft of the RAF airfields of II Group, July 1940"; printed lettering along the top border reads: "The Second Edition in Robert Taylor's Trilogy to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of The Battle of Britain 1940-2000 Published by the Military Gallery, Bath, England (C) 2000"; lettering hand painted near the lower right corner of the original canvas reads: "Robert Taylor - 00 -"; number hand written in pencil on the bottom border at left reads: "7/250"; there are 20 signatures in pencil on the border below the picture.
