Markings: Print on plates read "G. HERZBERG", "AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY/ OF SCIENCE" and "FREW LECTURER 1982". Paper label glued to bottom reads "AUSTRALIAN BOULDER OPALS/ Mined in the outback of/ Queensland the Opal runs/ in veins through iron/ stone and can produce/ gems with exeptional colour qualities.".
