The Bill Mason collection consists of typical cameras and other equipment in the 16mm format widely used by documentary film makers in Canada in this period. The front finder was an integral part of the adapter for Cine-Kodak Special camera. Each finder lens or mask was marked with the focal length of the lens with which it was to be used, and the opening defined the area that would be included in the picture.
