Technical: Dealer promotional models like this one exist at least since the 1920’s but seems to have been popular, particularly during the 1950’s and 1960’s. Most large automobile manufacturers would use this promotional tool mostly to help out the customer to visualize the car models in different colors. Some were for sale also or to give away. L’automobile Ford de modèle Custom a été introduite pour l’année 1949. Il était offert en version Tudor [2 portes) et Fordor (4 portes). Il s’agissait du premier nouveau modèle de Ford après la Deuxième Guerre mondiale. Il a remporté un grand succès. On dit qu’il s’agit du modèle qui sauva Ford. Ce modèle de cette automobile est en fait le modèle Fordor de la série Custom et non pas le Tudor acheté par M. Brooks. Il fonctionnait en remontant un mécanisme. (moteur à friction) [Ref. 1]
