Canadians who served as aircrew in the U.K., either in the Royal Canadian Air Force or the Royal Air Force, during the Second World War, would have used such gloves and liners. These particular liners/ gloves were given to the donor a great many years ago. - Function

The gloves were components of the Type D heating system combination which included... - the electrically heated (24 volts) inner gloves (linings) 22C/719, - the flying gloves / gauntlets 22C/770, and - green denim booties 22C/721 and 724, which were not included in the donation. This Type D heating system combination was completed by an electrically heated waistcoat 22C/659-663 worn under the flying suit. - Area Notes
