Lego is a Danish toy company established in 1932 that specializes in creating play experiences for children that aid the development of creativity through construction. Lego often partners with brands to create themed sets, and in 2013, Lego partnered with Disney to create these sets in promotion of the 2013 movie Planes. (Ref. 3) The movie premiered in Canada on August 9, 2013 to largely negative reviews. However, the film was a box office success, grossing $149,883,071, and received two sequels. (Ref. 4) The popularity of the movie among audiences is a testament to the interest in vehicles specifically aircrafts from young Canadians. - Function
-
For children ages 2 to 5 years old to play with while engaging with themes of aviation in relation to Disney’s Planes. - Technical
-
The Dusty and Chug V39 model includes transparent DUPLO bricks and assorted standard and decorated DUPLO bricks with which children can build according to the instructions or their imaginations. This set also includes a wrench, fuel hose, fence, and the personified aircrafts from the movie which help teach children the necessary tools and processes to maintain aircrafts in flight condition. Similarly, the Ripslinger’s Air Race V39 and Skipper’s Flight School V39 models include assorted standard and decorated DUPLO bricks, traffic cones, trophy and podium, and personified vehicles from the movie.
