This artifact was used at the Imperial Oil geophysics laboratory. It was made in Canada. The finish of the scale would indicate that it was manufactured during the 1940s, but the use of metrics dates it to after the year 1972. It is possible that the scale was made before the 1970s for the US market, and therefore used the metric system. - Function
