Taken from an email from the donour: “I'm also attaching a photo of another important piece of equipment - from a working anesthesiologists' point of view! That item is the coffee mug. In this photo, there are four mugs, each with the logo of the Canadian Anaestetists' Society (forerunner to the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society), as well as the date of the Annual Meeting (1983 - 1986) and the name of the city in which the meeting was held. The 1985 meeting was held in Toronto but jointly with the Australian Anaesthetists' Society, the crest of which is on that mug. They are in perfect condition, having been used only once or twice if at all, after which they were hand-washed. I also have one other mug dating from when pharmaceutical companies would offer mugs embossed with an anesthesiologists' name. Yes, perhaps the companies thought it was a business promotion but we thought it was the promotion of public health, in that we then did not inadvertently share mugs. That mug would also date to the mid 1980s.” » - Area Notes
