Energy East is a pipeline proposed by TransCanada to take oil from Alberta and Saskatchewan to refineries and terminals in Eastern Canada. The stickers, which can be placed over $1.00 to make the loon looks like it is covered in oil, were intended as a tool for Ecology Ottawa to raise awareness of the project and its potential impact on the Ottawa and Rideau Rivers. Ecology Ottawa is a volunteer-based organization created to raise understanding of local environmental issues and promote environmental leadership.
