The Canadian factories for Corning Glass Works were founded in 1945 in Leaside Ontario. In 1959 the Corning Ware line was introduced and products decorated with the blue cornflower motif became increasingly popular. By 1978 the company would change its name to Corning Canada Incorporated and new factory would call Bracebridge Ontario its home. Between 1991 and 1992 the Leaside factory would relocate to West Beaver Creek. Today a large amount of Canada’s factories have been relocated to the United States. Les produits décorés avec le motif bleu de cornflower furent très populaires. En 1978, la filiale changea de nom pour Corning Canada Incorporated. Technical

S. Donald Stookey is the scientist responsible for accidentally discovering ceramic glass during his research on glass in 1952. Glass that was heated until it became a ceramic was more resistant to thermal choc and could be used for an extensive amount of purposes. It is out of this material that Corning Ware bas born and introduced onto the American markets in 1958 by Corning Glass Works. The company would go on to create a wide array of glass ceramic cooking accessories until it ceased its operations in the year 2000. S. Donald Stookey est le jeune scientifique qui a découvert par accident en 1952, le verre céramique lors de ses recherches sur le verre. Ce verre peut être chauffé et résiste aux chocs thermiques importants. C’est ainsi qu’est né le Corning Ware introduit sur le marché américain par Corning Glass Works en 1958. La firme cessa de produire les accessoires de cuisson en verre céramique en 2000.
