- Scope and Content
- Photograph shows aircraft with registration: CF-ACH. A three day air show was planned for September 13-15, 1929, to mark the opening of the airport at St. Catharines . Heavy rains prevented any flying on the 13th, but a number of air races and stunt flights took place on the 14th and 15th. It is unknown what trophy Edward won. A sad footnote to the occasion was the crash of Travel Air CF-ABE operated by Skyways Ltd. of Toronto on the 14th, on its first flight after the races had finished, while giving paying passengers a short ride over the Niagara area. Pilot Frank "Doc" Bradfield and all 5 passengers were killed.
