- Scope and Content
- Item is a photograph showing train crew posing with steam locomotive, flat cars laden with squared timbers.
- Caption
- "First locomotive #3 (4-4-0) Coteau built by Amoskeag in 1882, later sold to the Gilmour in 1898. This photograph was taken in Ottawa around the turn of the century with a train of logs for J.R. Booth (lumber mill). The man on the ground, next to the engine, wearing a wide brimmed hat, is Mr. Cole, the train conductor, whose son, W.G. Cole gave me the photograph. It must have been a special occasion as most of the men have white shirts and ties."
