Other titles: The Raft Lake spillway holds back water from Marmion Lake at same level to permit use of it was a headwater from the three power plants which now use it and at the same time permit it to drain into and through the now dried-out Finlayson Lake instead of into Steep Rock Lake's eastern arm. This spillway, be means of logs lowered into the dam can control the elevation of water in the lake and stream. Picture shows men stripping construction lumber from the completed spillway on the day before the blast which blew plug holding Marmion Lake water from this cut. Camera is facing east along the cut to rock plug holding back Marmion Lake. The picture was taken just before the blast.
