- Cattle round-up in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Like a long line from the covered wagon days, this steam of cattle on Sandy Gilchrist's Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, ranch winds over the rolling hills of the high prairie to their summer feeding. In the winter the cattle are usually grazed on flat country near the ranch where hay may be given them when natural fodder is deep in snow and where they may be more readily rounded up if storms break.
