It was the most advanced machine of its time. As it was the only machine of its kind in North America after the U.S.[A.] lost communication with France, it was borrowed by the U.S. Manhattan project through the National Research Council. There is strong evidence that it has been used to make tensile tests on the first plutonium produced in the U.S.[A.].
