Markings

The front markings are those written on the drawing itself. The back markings have been taken from labels attached to the brown paper back of the framed drawing. This is probably a transcript of original writing on the back of the drawing. Almost all of these framed drawings also have another label affixed to the back which reads: ‘THE T. EATON CO./ *HOUSE FURNISHINGS LIMITED/ TORONTO CANADA/ PICTURE/ FRAMING/ 33307'. Most also have a handwritten measurement on the front or the back.// [FRONT]: ‘494/ L-12/ Set on same page as L-16'/ [BACK]: ‘Fence of logs 60 feet long by 2 feet 6 inches thick at their butts,/ supported on transverse sleepers and held together by caps and two stakes.'
