INTRODUCED IN EARLY 1970S, PRINTWHEEL OR DAISY WHEEL RESEMBLED SMALL SPOKED WHEEL; EACH SPOKE HAD PRINT CHARACTER EMBOSSED ON TIP & WHOLE WHEEL REVOLVED TO ALLOW APPROPRIATE CHARACTER TO BE POSITIONED AGAINST RIBBON. TECHNIQUE WAS WIDELY USED IN WORD PROCESSING SYSTEMS.
