SMALL SCALE MODEL OF RADARSAT II SPACECRAFT, MADE TO DISPLAY ITS CONSTRUCTION & DEMONSTRATE ITS FUNCTIONING. RADARSAT IS EARTH OBSERVATION SATELLITE USED FOR MONITORING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & EVENTS, MAPPING OF EARTH'S GEOLOGICAL FEATURES & NATURAL RESOURCES ETC.
Technical
RADARSAT II, SCHEDULED FOR LAUNCH IN 2003, WILL SUCCEED RADARSAT I AS WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL EARTH OBSERVATION RADAR SATELLITE. OTHER SATELLITES WILL HAVE GREATER RESOLUTION THAN RADARSAT'S 3 M., BUT LATTER IS ONLY ONE CAPABLE OF OPERATING THROUGH CLOUD COVER, ESSENTIAL FOR DISASTER & ICE MONITORING APPLICATIONS (REF.1).
